A National Latina/o/x Virtual Theater Festival
Celebrating Contemporary Latina/o/x Theatre in the U.S.

The Latino Theater Company presents RE:Encuentro 2021: National Virtual Latina/o/x Theatre Festival, a dynamic ten-day virtual festival filled with discussions, showcases, and reflections to hold space for actionable discussions that engage the Latina/o/x theater communities. Re-Encuentro will feature sixteen virtual play performances and six public virtual panels with Latina/o/x companies across the United States with various opportunities for the community to engage with the artists. The festival runs from November 12- 21, 2021.

The LTC  previously hosted the 2014 LATC Encuentro and the International Encuentro de las Americas in 2017, which served as a space to create dialogue between practicing Latina/o/x theater artists and showcased the aesthetic diversity in the field at both the national and international level. Encuentro translates to “an encounter,” a theme that is a core component of this festival. RE:Encuentro 2021 will highlight the diversity of cultures within the Latina/o/x construct in the U.S
