Marina del Mar is a bipolar Puerto Rican astrophysicist who has survived a suicide attempt and has a congenital illness: she cannot tremble. With humor and beauty, we witness Marina del Mar's encounter with her loved ones, living and dead, traveling through the abysses and lights of her psyche on her path to healing. With laughter, music and movement, Blanco Temblor is a reflection on a historically invisible topic: our mental health, as well as bipolarity, suicide, psychiatric hospitals, medication, prejudices, dementia, life and death.

Teatro Público is a company led by three women artists and cultural managers that seeks to develop the art and industry of theater in Puerto Rico, as well as strengthen theater culture among citizens. We are distinguished by being the only heterogeneous production house in Puerto Rico with a robust offering throughout the year. This means that we are the only production platform that continually offers artists of diverse aesthetics, generations and contributions to theater and the country, the opportunity to develop their projects without having to deal with the production component. At an artistic level, we are recognized for carrying out work of excellence and for the diversity of our offering, always offering quality content, depth and resonance for our Puerto Rican and Latin American society. With a solid commitment to the development of Puerto Rican dramaturgy, we have produced three world premieres of Puerto Rican plays (Blanco Tremor by Carola García, Malas Mañas by Alejandra Ramos Riera and Mara Tres Tiempos by Heriberto Feliciano) and we have shared the work outside the island (Destinos Festival in Chicago, Spanish Repertory in New York, Open Scenes Festival in Orlando). Also, our mission has been to revive classics and emblematic pieces of national and international dramaturgy (The Seagull by Antón Chekhov, The Zoo Story by Edward Albee, Angels in America by Tony Kushner and The Smell of Popcorn by José Luis Ramos Escobar), to keep these iconic stories alive on our boards and for today's audiences to have direct access to them. At the same time, we seek to experiment with the form and aesthetic and narrative possibilities of theater, in multidisciplinary pieces in which literature, music, dance and cinema have been fused to enhance social impact (Day 16 by Federico Roca). At a social and community level, many of our pieces connect with social issues relevant to our country and our current society, with a focus on collective healing, social and human transformation, and the visibility of little-told stories. With Blanco Tremor, a work that deals with bipolarity and suicide, we had conversations with mental health professionals, and with Día 16, we collaborated with community-based organizations that fight against gender violence. We continually provide free access to our productions for low-income people, we have included dubbing for the deaf community in some of our productions, and our tickets are kept at affordable prices to support cultural democracy. We produce an extensive and popular offering of continuing education workshops, as well as the Intermediate Writing and Theater in the Ear initiatives, free-access virtual spaces to write, and to enjoy readings of scenes from dramaturgy figures, respectively. We are also recognized for theatrical dialogues in which our community can talk about relevant topics both creatively and professionally, as well as those of social and political urgency, such as the anti-racist fight, the fight against gender violence and the fight for trans visibility. At the production level, we are one of the most established companies in Puerto Rico currently and that best compensates the work of its staff of artists and technicians. We are constantly reviewing and innovating production processes so that Puerto Rican theater can become a strengthened industry that offers healthy and fair working conditions for its workers. To do this, we had the Living Theater cycle, in which we met with professionals from each area of work so that they could share their needs with us, and based on these conversations, we drafted our contracts and reviewed our production processes.
