Latino Theater Company presents

by Jean Carlos Claudio
Directed by Raquel Torre
La Vuelta Ensemble
Chicago, Illinois

We invite you to experience the journey of Salvador, an absent-minded inventor who creates an apparatus to preserve his most beloved memories… & maybe to face the reality of the darker ones. With courage and foolishness, Salvador will walk you through his days of chaos, memories, and wonder. Memorabilia is a clown solo-show using old boleros, acrobatics, juggling, dance, and theatre to tell a story meant to make you laugh and perhaps cry. Performed by renowned Chicago-based Boricua performer Jean Claudio, recently seen the in title role of Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Corduroy, the Goodman Theatre's LUCHA TEOTL and The Lizard y El Sol, and Teatro Vista's The Dream King.

La Vuelta Ensemble

La Vuelta is a Boricua-led theatre and circus company founded in 2014 by Puerto Rican artists Jean Claudio and Raquel Torre. Needing a creative home to grow original work, they started Circo La Vuelta (as it was originally named) while they trained as circus artists in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon returning to Puerto Rico, they packed their agenda performing in all types of events, growing their catalogue of work to 3 full circus shows, several short pieces and solo acts, and multiple characters. But the pursuit of growth is never-ending and in 2016 they relocated to Chicago to keep working on their skills as individual artists. After a semi-official hiatus, 2019 brought a rebranding to La Vuelta, leading them to grow roots in the Humboldt Park neighborhood with UrbanTheater Company as collaborators and mentors, and develop new work while committing to the following Mission Statement:

To create original work that is highly physical, delightfully absurd, and led by a POC/minority ensemble.
To rethink and challenge the traditional Eurocentric approaches to performance we have inherited through colonization.
To create work that doesn't exist disconnected from its context.
To forever be accessible to our community, in the work we produce, in the people we produce it with, and in the people we produce it for.
